Karien Hunter
Founder & Director

With more than 30 years’ experience in the legal profession, focusing on property and commercial law, Karien Hunter is well equipped to assist and advise on any property-related matter. She also advises on developments, estates and body corporate, where her knowledge and expertise has been established as invaluable. Karien oversees all aspects of the practice.

Karien is passionate about art and is a keen golfer. She regularly plays a four-ball with her husband and three sons.

Sarikha Singh
Director

Sarikha is a University of Durban – Westville Graduate (LLB), an admitted attorney, conveyancer and notary public.

Sarikha has a passion for conveyancing. As she puts it, the function of a conveyancer is to ensure on-time, risk-free delivery. She has established herself as a top performing conveyancer within KZN, and has an in-depth understanding of the needs of the financial institutions we work with.

Sarikha loves spending her time with family and friends and loves wild life.

Monique Gresse
Director

Monique is a University of Stellenbosch graduate (LLB) and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2016. She has gained experience in a variety of areas of practice. She provides and assist our clients with legal advice and legal opinions. She also assists in the Conveyancing department to ensure on-time delivery.

Monique enjoys her free time either surfing or spending time in nature. She has a passion for people and would go the extra mile for her clients.

Krystle Thessner
Attorney

Krystle studied at the University of the Free State where she completed her B.Com Law and LL.B degrees. She was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2017.

Krystle has gained diverse experience in every aspect of the law as an Articled Clerk. Krystle attends to all aspects of conveyancing under the supervision of Sarikha Singh. She also attends to the resolution of disputes that are property related and meets with clients to sign them up.

Krystle loves music and dancing, running and any adventurous activity. She’s also a fanatic about anything that she can DIY or restore.

Pretty Cele
Paralegal in Bond Cancellations

Pretty was born and raised in Kwamashu in KwaZulu-Natal. She started at AMC Hunter Inc in 2011 as a general worker. Karien spotted her talent and she was quickly promoted into the conveyancing department. Pretty heads up our bond cancellation department and deals with a large volume of these transactions.

Pretty likes to give motivational advice and would like to be a trauma counsellor. She enjoys reading and has been inspired by people such as Nelson Mandela.

Noelene Pillay
Paralegal in Standard Bank Bonds

Noelene was born and brought up in Durban. After matric, she obtained a secretarial diploma and thereafter did a legal secretarial course. She previously worked at 2 other law firms and was offered the job as a paralegal to do bonds and transfers at AMC HUNTER

Noelene would love to travel the world and enjoys watching sport and being around happy people who inspire and motivate her.

Lindiwe Mthethwa
Paralegal in Nedbank, ABSA and FNB Bonds

Lindiwe was born in Empangeni and completed her Computer Training at PC Training. She also studied for Executive Secretary at Boston City Campus and Conveyancing Paralegal at Malcon Tuition.

Work is her life and she enjoys what she does. Her favourite colour is lilac.

Deshini Moodley
Paralegal in ABSA and FNB Bonds

Deshini was born in Chatsworth in KwaZulu-Natal. She completed matric in 1991 and started her first job at a small law firm in Durban as a receptionist and also assisted with manual rates application and transfer duty on a typewriter. Since then she has been working for attorneys, gaining experience and knowledge. Her aunt Patsy Pather who was also a Paralegal, inspired her to pursue a career in the legal field.

Deshini started working at AMC Hunter Inc in 2004 and has received numerous accolades from our bank clients for being a top performer, not least of which was to be the no 1 attorneys on the ABSA Panel two years in a row.

Deshini is a real go getter and loves music and dancing.

Cindi van Deventer
Paralegal in FNB Private Wealth and RMB Private Wealth

Cindi was born in Virginia in the Free-State but grew up in Gauteng. She started out doing some retail work for Mr Price and CNA, and thereafter some admin work. She completed her studies in conveyancing and started working in conveyancing in 2004. Her husband relocated to Amanzimtoti so her previous employer sent her CV to Karien and she was quickly snapped up and joined AMC Hunter Inc where she attends to private bank work and structured lending in the bond department.

Cindi loves music, drawing and spending time with her family and dogs. Any free time she gets, she spends with them.

Joslyn Joseph
Paralegal for Transfer Department

Joslyn was born in Durban and completed her course as legal secretary at Durban Business College. She has been with the AMC Hunter Inc team for the last 11 years and loves her clients and the estate agents she interacts with on a daily basis.

She is a mom with two young children and enjoy swimming and reading.

Jenny Kendall
Paralegal for Transfer Department

Jenny has 32 years experience as a conveyancing para-legal and has covered every aspect thereof. She loves development work which she attends to in conjunction with our conveyancers, on behalf of our developer clients. She started her training with Berkowitz Kirkel Cohen Greenberg and stayed with them for 14 years. She moved on for further experience & joined Morris Fuller Walden Williams for a number of years and finally came home and joined the AMC HUNTER INC team.

Jenny is a Durban girl born and bred. In her younger days she did a fair amount of overseas travel, she toured Europe extensively from Spain right across the Europe nations through Greece to Turkey, Israel and Egypt. She sailed the Mediterranean and skied in New Zealand. She also toured the United Kingdom and stayed in London where she saw many stage plays on West End, a great passion of hers.

Jenny loves conveyancing and her only regret is that she did find the time to read law! Her second love is electronics and had been self-taught in this regard from programming to repairing computers.

Loryn van Rooyen
Office Manager

Loryn grew up in Pietermaritzburg. She has been in the legal field since 1992 and blessed to have been exposed to all facets of a law firm, such as secretarial, conveyancing and litigation.

Loryn is currently the Office Manager at AMC Hunter Inc and also assistant to the bookkeeper.

She enjoys walking, sewing and reading.

Kirby Murray
Bookkeeper

Kirby is a born and bred Durbanite, hailing from the streets of Redhill. Since completing school she has been working as a bookkeeper. She worked for 2 accounting firms previously and now handles the books for AMC Hunter Inc where she oversees all aspect of financial management at AMC Hunter Inc.

Kirby really enjoys cooking and trying out new dishes.

Nokuphiwa Nxumalo
Receptionist

Nokuphiwa was born in Kwa-mashu and grew up in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. She started work as a cashier at Makro and then worked as a sales consultant at an IT company. Nokuphiwa now works at AMC Hunter as the receptionist at the Durban Office.

Nokuphiwa loves to read and is a makeup addict.

Agnes Mbhele
Refreshment Coordinator and General Administration

Agnes was born and raised in Ixopo in KwaZulu-Natal. She makes sure no one goes thirsty at AMC Hunter Inc and assists with general administration.

Agnes enjoys singing and reading.

Amanzimtoti Office
Sandy Manyali
Paralegal in Transfer Department

Sandy was born in Pietermaritzburg. In 2008 she worked at Patnet Training Centre as a computer, secretarial studies and cashier facilitator, after which she was employed at IS KZN as a Data Capturer. Sandy started working at AMC Hunter Inc as a receptionist in 2011 and was promoted in 2014 to do Bond Cancellations. In 2016 she was promoted again to attend to transfers in our Toti office.

Sandy is an indoors person and mostly likes building puzzles which have over 1000 pieces, she also likes Soduku or any puzzle type games. Now and then she enjoys swimming and loves reading books.

Marichen Venter
Paralegal in Transfer Department

Marichen was born in Ladybrand in the Free-State and grew up in the small towns of Petrus and Reitz. She started working for attorneys shortly after finishing school and had the opportunity to work for a few attorneys being litigation secretary. She’s been working in conveyancing since 1979, being involved in registration of various types of transfers, bonds, cancellation of bonds, developments of sectional title schemes and opening of sectional title registers.

Marichen also worked for a few years as a bookkeeper but returned to her first love being conveyancing paralegal. She started working for AMC Hunter Inc in 2016. She loves working with people and the biggest reward and satisfaction for her is receiving compliments from all parties involved in a transfer of a job well done.

Marichen loves music, reading and hiking in the open spaces of nature.

Gugu Shozi
Refreshments Coordinator and General Administration

Gugu was born in the Umzumbe area. She worked at the supermarket as a merchandiser in 2005. Thereafter she started working at AMC Hunter as a temp in 2012 and then became a permanent employee in 2014.

Gugu is a caring person and likes singing and baking.

Carmen O’ Connor
Paralegal in Transfer Department

Carmen was born in Durban and grew up in Westville. After school she obtained a National Diploma in Business Administration Cum Laude from Technikon Natal. Carmen started working in conveyancing in Durban and then moved to Ballito where she did conveyancing and deceased estates. She has been working at the Ballito Office of AMC Hunter Inc since August 2017 doing transfers.

Carmen enjoys spending time with her family, reading and travelling.
